Most folklore studies books, especially those published since 1923, are copyrighted and thus not freely available online.
Open Folklore provides online access to a growing collection of folklore studies books in the public domain (usually, published before 1923), recent books published on open access platforms, and copyrighted books that have been “opened” for wide access.
Examples of sources for Open Access books
“Born digital” open access books from Utah State University Press
Partial folklore collection in the Hathi Trust Digital Library
